Karen made these cute 'coffin' treat boxes for her club buddies earlier this month.  They were filled with fun and spooky Halloween candies. 

She used the Coffin Treat Boxes on page 53 (seen here) of the Holiday catalog and added the cut out characters  Monster Bash designer series paper.  The intricate frames are from the Ornate Frames dies on that same page.

Wooden Snowman Decor

We made these adorable wooden snowmen for our Fall Retreat last month. We used them to mark their' spaces!

They are about 8" high depending on the size of the wood pieces.  On average the bottom circle is about 4-5" and the head is 2" in circumference. 

Luckily we had some wood from our woodpile we could cut up for these cuties.  My husband used his table saw to cut them up for us.  I did bake the wood on low for 40 minutes to dry them out and remove any unwanted critters.  They're adhered together with hot glue and the faces are drawn on with Black permanent markers.  The nose is cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock.   The finishing touch is the curly Red ribbon from the Holiday catalog.  Perfect scarves!

Designer Paper Pocket card! Perfect for double sided paper!

I am in love with this card fold!  It features the Come to Gather designer paper and the designer paper is just one piece folded in half!  

The back piece is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" in Pretty Peacock.  The Come to Gather DSP is 5 1/4" X 8" and folded in half.  Then fold down one corner to reveal the inside of your designer paper. I love that I can show both sides with this fun pocket card.

You'll adhere the bottom and right edges together to form the pocket.  The inside White piece is 3 1/2" X 4 1/2" and punched with the Detailed Trio punch for the twine. 

I stamped the images from the Gather Together stamp set in Pretty Peacock and Pear Pizzazz.  The leaves are die-cut from the Gathered  Leaves dies and the sprigs are from the Detailed Peacock dies.

Peaceful Boughs; beautiful Wrapped in Plaid and Gold!

We made this pretty card at my October card clubs.  The Peaceful Boughs was one bundle I had to order for many reasons.  See it here.  

Isn't it lovely? Classic Christmas but not red and white! The colors are Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, Vanilla and Sahara Sand.  And I added a good bit of Gold here and there too!  The Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper has gold highlights throughout.  And the Shaded Spruce gold ribbon coordinates with it all perfectly.  

And I didn't stop there, did you notice the edges of the greeting die-cut are sponged with Gold?  And did you catch the gold spatters around the pine cones?  This is simple and beautiful if I do say so myself!  Sometimes a card comes together so naturally.  This one sure did for me. 

I fell in love with the greetings, the die-cuts and boughs.  And the boughs die-cut so easily!  Even through they are very detailed we didn't have any trouble. 

Here's a look at the inside; more gold spatters among the pine bough and pine cones.

Snowfront sponged scene; simply beautiful

With just a few inks, sponges and the Snowfront stamp set and you can easily create a beautiful scene.  

I started out by sponging the background using these colors: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Lovely Lipstick.  I've found there is an easy way to get a smooth sponged sky.  Here are my tips:

1. Ink your sponge lightly and rub it into your scrap or grid paper, working the ink into the sponge.  Repeat this  step a few times if needed. A well used sponge works better than a brand new one.
2. I start sponging off of my card stock. This prevents that 'dab' of ink you can get when you start.  
3. Slowly and in a circular motion work your way onto the card stock. 
4. Do not press hard; just firmly. 
5. Choose colors that combine nicely. I wouldn't combine blue with red unless you want the purple you get when they touch. 
6. When adding three colors I start with wither the lightest or the darkest color.  Then the center, medium color working from either the sides in or the bottom up.  Lastly add the darkest color, working until the colors mix. 

I stamped the trees multiple times in Black Memento ink.  The 'clouds' are stamped in Lovely Lipstick, stamping off a few times first. 

Measurements:

• Whisper White 5 ½” X 8 ½” plus a 3” X 5” for the scene
• Black 3 1/8” X 5 1/8”

3 cards with the To Every Season & Tags, Tags, Tags bundles

I created the Halloween cards below for my friend Judith's workshop. 

Which do you prefer?  They have different greetings and the designer papers are reversed.  We did use the Stylish Scroll embossing folder on the Vanilla layer. Can you tell that I reversed the texture on each card?  The left has the raised texture and the right has the smoother side on the front. The nice thing about embossing is that you can choose your favorite side; or mix it up like I did.  There's no right or wrong! 

Sometimes it's fun to see how a layout can change with other stamps, colors and papers!  I used the same layout and two new bundles to create cards for Fall and Christmas too. 

The leaves, bats and snowflakes are all punched with the Every Season Punch Pack. And the greetings and dies are all from the Tags, Tags, Tags bundle.

A WOW Waterfall card with Gather Together!!

It's been a few years since I made a waterfall card so I created this one for my October Card Clubs using the Gather Together stamp set from the 2019 Holiday Catalog.

Isn't it lovely?  These interactive cards are so fun for the recipient. It's hard to stop playing with them!  

After we textured the Early Espresso layer with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder we rubbed the Copper or Gold Delicata inks directly onto the card stock.  These new metallic inks are amazing and dry so quickly.  They shimmer and shine wonderfully too! 

I colored in some of the pumpkins with Blends markers and also used Wink of Stella on everything I could! I like how the Wink blends the stamped ink without having to add color. I just love the shimmer it gives.
