Here I used a scoring tool to add some interest underneath the punched circles.  

I love these colors together!  Grapefruit Grove with Calypso Coral.  This pretty stamp is really fun to color.  Here I used Blends markers but watercolor pencils, markers or ink with a blender pen or aqua painter would also work wonderfully.

Sea of Textures; wow!!!

Look at this card Candace made for our June Flowerbug's Team swap!  

I tried to count just the die-cuts and I think it's at least 9!  That doesn't include all of the stamping, Wink of Stella and punches.  Amazing!  Her colors are Crumb Cake, Shaded Spruce, Very Vanilla with Rich Razzleberry and Silver accents. 

Here are a few of my favorite things on her card:

• I love the silver behind the little fishes die-cut in the center.  
• She trimmed off the top and bottom of the greeting Tailored Tag punch; genius!
• Wink of Stella on the 'torn sand'.
• How she made the sand dollars by sponging and reinserting the 'star' into the center. 
• Her sponged background!  I believe it's the new Shaded Spruce ink. 

June Technique Class!

Each month I am intrigued and surprised by what I come up with for my technique class.  Not that I'm that super talented but I truly love that they're always so unique and special!  There are so many unique techniques out there for us in the stamping world. 

Here they are:

From left to right they're Eight Pointed Star, Ghosting with Alcohol, Faux Parquet Wood & Embossing with Die-cuts.  I'm using a bunch of new products and colors this month including the Rooted in Nature bundle, the Abstract Impressions bundle and the Enjoy Life stamp set.

Varied Vases bundle; it's adorable!

Karen made this one using the new Grapefruit Grove with Mint Macaron. Sweet & simple!  
The vases are punched from the new In Color designer paper; what a fast way to add pattern and texture! The Grapefruit Grove CS is textured with our Petal Burst embossing folder. 

Mary made this one with new colors of Highland Heather, Soft Seafoam and  a bit of Grapefruit Grove and Coastal Cabana. 

Each one of these features the Square Framelits collection but they're so different!  This set is not fussy but fun to use!

Springtime Impressions

Mary brought this pretty card to our shoe box swap on Saturday.  She cased it from Mikaela  Tilridge. 

She chose to use the new Soft Seafoam card stock as her base card with a bit of Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink.  Here are the details on creating this card:

1. Cut out the large die-cut from White card stock.  You may need to use the Precision base plate as it's an intricate die.  We did not have to. 
2. Sponge a bit of Petal Pink ink onto a few flowers if desired. 
3. Cut out two more 'roses' from Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink CS.  You can just add small pieces of CS under the area you want to cut out.  Adhere these together with mini glue dots.
4. Ink your greeting (Petal Palette) in Garden Green ink and stamp on a scrap of White CS.  Die-cut with the Petals & More thinlits. Sponge the edge and add with dimensionals. 
5. Punch out four leaves with the Leaf Punch from Soft Seafoam and Vellum card stock.  Add to the roses and then to the main card. 

Rooted in Nature; sponged sunset

When I saw a card Sharon Burkett made with the Rooted in Nature stamp set I had to case it!  I made a bunch for my June swap with my Team this weekend. 

You may know how much I love creating scenes with sponging; if you don't you do now!  I absolutely love the way sponging highlights a stamped image!

Step by step:

1. On my 2 7/8" White circle I stamped the tree from Rooted in Nature with Versamark ink and embossed it with Black embossing powder. 
2. Then I sponged Crushed Curry ink on the lower half.  Next I added Calypso Coral sponging on the sides and a little on the upper area. 
3. Finish it off with just a little bit of Rich Razzleberry ink.  TIP: Remember when you sponge to always start off of your card stock and slowly work your way onto it.  This way you will not get that dark sponge mark when you want smooth ink. 

4. I used my new Big Shot embossing mat to add texture to the upper right and lower left area using the leaf thinlit in the bundle. 

5. I also stamped and die cut a few leaves to add.

6. The greeting is also heat embossed with Black embossing powder. 

7. Fresh Fig is the card stock here and the measurements are 4 1/4" X 11", scored in half.  The stamped & embossed layer is 4" X 5 1/4"

DIY Colored Ball Decorations

My friends and I made these hanging decorations for my stamping studio with the new 2018-20 In Colors! 

The styrofoam balls range in size from 3" to 8" around.  We used circle punches from 1" to 1 1/2" to punch out the card stock circles.  Then we used short stick pins to pin them into the styrofoam.  We started at the bottom and tried to add the circles evenly.  In the end some areas were perfect and others weren't.  I sometimes have to remind myself that things do not have to be perfect; home made is still best!

Lined Alphabet photo and pencil holder

Here are a few more projects made with the incredible Lined Alphabet bundle that aren't cards. 

This is a photo of my granddaughter Eliza that we turned into a name frame for her.  It's 5" X 7" in size. I think she'll love it!  

And the pencil holder spells the name Marilyn; one of my friends and event helpers.  The round, metal pencil holder was purchased at the dollar store last year.  

There's no limits to creating with this fun dies and stamps.  You'll be seeing a lot more in the future as they're just plain amazing!!!
