Welcome to May's Control Freaks Blog Hop! This month's theme is the New Catalog Sneak Peak!
The upcoming 2018-19 Annual Catalog is AMAZING!!! And our new color line is the bomb! You'll see lots of samples from us Freaks to confirm that opinion! Keep clicking at the bottom of each post to get to the next blog and you'll see it all.
You may have just arrived or stopped in from Connie's blog; she is an amazing designer!
Today my projects focus on techniques with some of my favorite new colors in our amazing, updated color line. This first card features a masked, sponging technique with the new hostess set Pressed Flowers.
This technique is one of my favorites; it highlights our stamped images beautifully.
I used post it notes to mask off the colored area on my Whisper White card stock. Then I sponged on two Classic ink colors. I added Highland Heather on the bottom and Balmy Blue to the top using a washing motion with my sponge. When you want a smooth sponged look I recommend starting on the post-it note and working your way onto the card stock. That way you don't get that first dab of strong ink on your card stock which can ruin a smooth application.
The greeting is from the new Enjoy Life stamp set stamped in Memento Black ink. The White CS measures 3 3/4" X 5" and the Balmy Blue is 3 7/8" X 5 1/8". The main Black card is 5 1/2" X 8 1/2".
Next is a fun technique I'm calling 'Ink Swipe Horizon'.
I used 5 of our pretty Classic Ink colors on this card featuring the new Rooted in Nature stamp set. Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay on glossy White card stock. Stazon Black ink is used for the stamping and swiping. It's actually very easy but there are some nuances to learn that are best demonstrated in a video. I plan to post it in the next week or two, so stay tuned!
And now you're off to see what awesome projects Debbie Henderson is sharing with you. Don't miss it!
