June Technique Class

Here are the cards we're making for my June Technique Class: 

I love each one of them!  From top left to bottom right here are the techniques we're doing:  Coloring with the Wink of Stella pen, Glitter Spatter (hard to see here!), Crayon Resist and Sponged Window.  

I used all brand new stamp sets for these cards.  The new Annual Catalog is awesome; I hope you have one! If not let me know.  If you're ordered from me in the past year you can get it free.  Otherwise it's just $5.00 and I'll ship it to you.  

Local gals, RSVP for this class by June 20th.  Class is at either 4:30 or 6 pm Monday June 26th. Class fee is $10 for all 4 cards.  All you need to provide is your adhesive.

Crafting Forever meets Painter's Palette!

We made this cute card at my friend Jean's workshop last week.  We used three of the brand new In Colors here; Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Powder Pink. 

I am so please with how these two stamp sets work together!  I love the background made with the Painter's Palette stamps; it's always fun to stamp your own background. It's hard to quit! The White stamped layer is 3 3/4" X 5".

We cutout the circles using the Circles  Collection framelits.  We used the two largest circles that are about 2 5/8" & 2 7/8" around.  The Berry Burst circle is textured using the Softly Falling embossing folder. The stamped White circle is popped up with our dimensionals. 

The scissors is stamped using our Black Archival ink and the handle is water-colored with the Wink of Stella pen. We just picked up ink from the lid of the ink pad and swirled it around a bit before coloring.  Love this technique!

Daisy Delight Cards in a fun new Box!

I created this project for my display at the April Minneapolis On Stage event.  I found a similar box online and knew it would make a fabulous project!

The box opens up like a book and holds at least 5 cards and envelopes. 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It features the Daisy Delight bundle; new in the 2017-18 Annual Catalog.  Right now the Daisy Punch is on back-order and unavailable for purchase.  So if you're wanting the bundle you may have to wait a week or two.  It should be available towards the end of June.

The box is made from Pool Party card stock with a bit of Daffodil Delight trim.  The Daisy Delight stamp set and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper is also used on the box and all of the cards too.

I am offering a local class on June 22nd at 6 pm.  We'll be making the box and cards and everyone will also receive the template for the box too.  The cost is $15.  RSVP by June 20th at Noon to attend.

It's here! Our annual BIG stamping rummage sale!!!

This weekend is our 11th Annual Stamping & Scrap-booking Rummage Sale!  If you live near us in Minot, ND you do not want to miss it!  My customers get to shop early on Friday night.  Saturday it's open to everyone from 9-3 pm.  

We have over 40 people selling their excess items!  I believe we have more items than ever before; it's so packed I could hardly get photos of everything.  Until we move some tables out of the garage everything looks a mess.  But I knew you would want to see it so here are some of the photos.

And I apologize for teasing you long distance people who would so love to be here!  I am very sorry, but I an unable to look for anything you might be wanting or looking for.  I am sure there are more than a thousand stamp sets; maybe even two!  And it's a crazy, busy time.  So I am sorry but it's not feasible so please don't ask.  All I can say is get together with your group and hold your own sale!

Incredible right?!!  My gals, I call them my committee, works so hard to set this up.  They do enjoy it and they definitely have a good system, but it is hard work. 

If anyone is interested in how we run our sale here are a few things we've learned over the years:

1. We print out the labels/stickers and hand them out to everyone.  Otherwise we could not read them!
2. We only sell stamping or scrap-booking items; from any store.
3. Everyone marks their own prices and receives the money from their sales.
4. We have two or three people who are in charge of the accounting; it takes a lot of time to make sure it's right and everyone get's their sales.
5. Have three people at a check-out.  Two to add sales (they both do for accuracy) and one to bag items.
6. Mark items in 25 cent increments for easier accounting.
7. Use flats, or boxes to organize everything on tables.  We ask everyone to bring a table if they can. 
8. Sellers get to shop an hour before everyone else; it's a perk!
9. Sellers have to bring a minimum of 25 items. 
10. We deduct the cost of the stickers/flyers/printing/advertising from everyone's sales. 
11. Advertise on Facebook!  Print out flyers and hand them out to everyone you can think of.  

Delightful Daisy swap

Here's another of my team swaps; this time by Lindsey.  She is a fairly new stamper and does a wonderful job already! 

She chose to use the new Daisy Delight bundle.  She got her color combination from the Delightful Daisy designer series paper.  Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.  I love the slanted strip across the card; what a great way to add it. 

I am sorry to tell you that the Daisy Punch is still unavailable.  Hopefully it will be by later June. It was very popular with us Demonstrators and I believe we surprised them by buying so many!

Bright Wishes

Candace, one of my downline, made this pretty card for our latest swap.  She used her watercolor pencils and a blender pen. 

Isn't the coloring just beautiful?!!  She loves to color and finds it very relaxing.  You can tell she's done a lot of it as she does such a beautiful job.  I especially love how she did the brick and greenery.  With this pretty image on the front of a card the inside could be for any occasion you want!

She stamped the main image with either Stazon Black or Archival Black ink onto our Shimmer card stock.  The Shimmer, thick White/Vanilla or Watercolor paper are your best choices for water-coloring.  You can use our White or Vanilla but if you're the type of colorer that goes over and over to get it blended well, those are not your best choices.

The main card is the new Berry Burst with a layer of Black.

• Shimmer 3 3/4" X 5"

Lovely Inside & Out with Colorful Seasons

Here is the card Marilyn made for our recent Team swap.  She chose to combine two great bundles; the Lovely Inside & Out and Colorful Seasons.  

Her color combination is Lemon Lime Twist with Berry Burst and White.  So bright and cheerful isn't it?

She used the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies with the Lovely Words thinlits.  She added the Stitched Shapes largest oval over the Lovely Words thinlit and ran them through at the same time.  Love it!

Other new products are the Oh My Stars embossing folder and the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper. Both are some of my new favorite products!

I  held a shoe box swap with my team last month and this is the card Mary brought.

She chose to feature the Colorful Seasons bundle.  This adorable chair die is so fun to add to a card; it sure adds that easy, relaxed vibe! Her colors are Berry Burst, Black and the lovely Lemon Lime Twist.  That new In Color adds such a wonderful bright spot to a project.
