I attempted to make an ugly sweater Christmas card. But I don't think I succeeded!
I have challenged my club gals to create an ugly sweater card for a contest I'm holding. The person who gets the most votes gets a $25 gift certificate from me. We vote at my December Club events. I'll be sure to share them with you too.
It's a little too 'pretty' don't you think? I shouldn't have started with that pretty Designer Paper! It's the This Christmas Specialty paper in the main catalog.
The card is 4 1/4" X 11" and I die-cut the neckline in both layers with an Oval framelit. The designer paper is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" with a 1 1/4" slit down the middle to form the collar. I added very thin strips of Red Glimmer paper on the edges.
I did add lots of bling. A pearl necklace and colored rhinestones - done with my Red Blendabilities marker. (Yes I still have them, hoping we get more someday....!)
I punched a Red Glimmer bow and die-cut a 'merry' greeting too. The cute bell fringe is done by threading our red jingle bells on Baker's twine. I added a dot of multipurpose adhesive under each bell to get them to stay in place. They do still jingle though!
I LOVE your sweater card!!!! I'm going to have to try this!!!

I love your card, but then, I love Christmas sweaters. It's a shame that our culture has come to embarrass people who wear them. It was a wonderful way to spread cheer. And why shame a harmless gesture such as that?

I love it! I am such a fan of Christmas sweater, but I worked for Christopher and Banks for many years (the home of the best Christmas sweaters, even today!) My sisters told me I can't wear them anymore around them :( So, I guess making them ugly sweater cards are in the future! I think the sweater embossing folder has inspired a lot of sweater cards.

LOVE your sweater card, LeAnn!! I'm planning on having the same contest at my Christmas Party! Can't wait to see what our ladies come up with. And, yes, yours is a very "pretty" ugly sweater!
