Swaps and More Swaps!

Here are a few more of my Team swaps from our June meeting.  I just love seeing what my gals come up with!  They are so talented and everyone has a unique style too. 

First is Marilyn's card:

She used the 'You've Got This' stamp set; a clear favorite of many of us.  Marilyn is a fairly new stamper but she has taken to it so beautifully!  

Here she shows us how pretty the Mint Macaron can be!  This is the only ink she used on this card.  Can you see the pretty striped background?  That is done by sponging Mint ink onto vellum using our Dots & Stripes masks.  Gorgeous!

Next is Annette's terrific swap card.  

Annette challenged herself to use Washi Tape in a fun new way.  She made a border around her greeting using the Bohemian Designer Washi Tape!  Such a neat idea and a great way to draw the eye to your greeting too.

This soft & soothing Tip Top Taupe card features our new Neutrals designer paper stack and 'The Open Sea' stamp set.  She sponged soft blue ink onto the bottom of her punched and stamped circle.  Beautiful card Lisa!  

Mary made this cute card using the new 'I Think You're Great' stamp set.  Her colors here are Delightful Dijon and Bermuda Bay.  There's a little bit of our Cherry On Top designer paper too.

Mix & Match Box of Cards Gift Box

Look at this fabulous upcoming class project!

I held a similar class a few years ago and thought it was time to bring it back as it's just the best and most clever box of cards ever!  I used our new, eye catching Bohemian designer paper.

 

It's a matchbox style box made from the thick white board in our designer paper packs. It will hold several A2 (or 4 1/4" X 5 1/2") cards and envelopes inside. Plus there's an separate area for tags on the side.  

 

The reason for the separate tags is to give a few options for greetings depending on the need. The main cards are left without greetings on purpose. These little punched tags have dimensionals on the back so you (or the recipient) can peel off the backing and add the greeting!  It's wonderful if I do say so myself and a fabulous gift, especially for a non-stamper.

 

This class costs $12 and is this Wednesday, June 24th at 4 or 6 pm but unfortunately it's full already.  If you are local and would like to attend this class please let me know and I might schedule another.

It looks like a sepia or black and white photo doesn't it?!  This designer paper is going to be a huge favorite for many of us; but especially if you like the vintage style.  It's in Black, Vanilla and Sahara Sand colors; just soft and lovely.

I used a few of my brand new catalog products to finish it off.  The new Stitched Satin ribbon in Black, the new Bold Butterfly Framelits and of course the pretty Timeless Elegance designer paper.  All new favorites of mine!

New Catalog Control Freaks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Control Freaks Blog Hop!  This month we're featuring all new products from the brand new Stampin' Up! catalog.

First I want to share a pretty card I made for my friend (and new downline!) Becky for her workshop last weekend.  She had a wonderful party with lots of her best stamping friends.  

I used the new Wild About Flowers stamp set and two of our new In Colors. Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Pink Pirouette with Whisper White.  The greeting is from the 'You've Got This' stamp set.  I'll be posting a video next week on this card.

When I received the new Cotton Paper assortment in my pre-order my first idea was to make a punched 3d flower with it.  I added it to a one of our treat boxes along with our new In Color Lace ribbon and gold 1/8" ribbon. 

I used our Medallion punch to punch out 10 flowers from the Watermelon colored Cotton paper  This paper is similar to tissue paper but it's strong!  It doesn't tear or rip as easily.  I poked a hole through the center of all of the punched layers and inserted a brad.  Then I started at the top layers and pinched and crimped them tightly. I loosened the pinching as I got further down to the the base of the flower.  This is what I got!  

I wanted to create a tag with the new 'You're So Sweet' Bundle that includes the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit dies. A photo of my sweet granddaughter Eliza fits perfectly behind the die-cut window. I stamped the tag with Gorgeous Grunge and Watermelon Wonder ink; stamped off first.

Annual Stampin' Rummage Sale

It's that time again; time for our big annual rummage sale.  38 of us are parting with some of our paper crafting supplies to make room for more!  

It's Friday night for my customers and on Saturday it's open to everyone else from 9-3 pm.  If you're within driving distance it is worth a road trip to Minot, ND!

First is a note to you long distance folks who would love to be here for the sale.  I am so sorry to tease and tempt you!  I do like to share and brag a bit about my 'committee' of worker bees though.  They volunteer many, many hours of their time to sort and set up all of this.  I just have to organize the sellers and they come and take over the huge project and do it all.  Am I lucky or what!!!!

I think we have more than ever this year.  

We have a lot of fun selling our old and then turning around and buying new.    

Again I'll apologize to you long distance customers who would love to be here!  And I am sorry but I can not take requests for stamp sets or other products that may or may not be at the sale.  I just do not have the time to find and ship them out.  

Card Class on June 21st!

Here are the three cards we're making at my Card Addiction class on the 21st.  

Each are so different; you've got a fun and bright birthday card using the Build a Birthday set and Cherry On Top washi tape on the top.  On the left is a pretty floral card in the new Watermelon Wonder using the Best Thoughts stamp set with watercolor paper.  And last is an eye-catching artistic card using Everything Eleanor and Work of Art sets.

I only have one or two spots left at class this Sunday at 4 pm.  It's $10 or free to new stampers and free with a $30 order at class.  

I colored this pretty flower onto watercolor paper by using the ink from the lid of my Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush ink pads with my favorite coloring tool; the aqua-painter.  To get the ink on the lids you can squeeze the ink pad lightly while it's closed.  

My best tip for great water coloring like this is to fill in a petal at a time with a very light color of ink.  Then go back in to pick up darker ink and drop bits of color to the areas you want darker. The colored ink spreads evenly and gives a water colored look since the paper was slightly wet from your first pass.
