It's that time again - Control Freaks Tour Time! This month the theme is Simple yet Elegant so I expect you'll find tons of ideas you want to case!
You may have arrived directly here or via Cindy's blog where I know you were wow'd by her gorgeous projects as usual!

First up is a card I made using my new favorite product - Blendabilities markers.
I had some extra stamped flowers laying around after my recent Blendabilties classes and just had to color them! I find it so relaxing which is surprising for a former 'non-colorer' like myself.
Here is a close-up shot so you can see the coloring up close and the wonderful new Filligree Frame embossing folder coming out on August 28th in the Holiday catalog. LOVE it!
The colors here are Whisper White, Black and Coastal Cabana. I colored the flowers from Bloom with Hope hostess set with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.

Next is the pretty card we made at my Card Clubs this month.
I used the new stamp set Forever Florals and Love & Sympathy for the greeting. The flower background is just sponged with Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride. I love this color combo.
****Remember when sponging a background like this to use a washing motion and not a pouncing motion. Another tip; start lightly with just a little ink on your sponge, starting off the paper first. You can always add more; but you cannot remove it! I will be doing a video on this card in the near future; so stop back in.
The main image is stamped in Black but I did add a few fun details to it. I colored the base of the buds with Calypso Coral marker (Blendabilities marker also works). Then to add a few high-lights to the edges I used my White gel pen and smudged it with my finger before it dried. The pretty punched border is done with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.
And now you're off to see what the creative Debbie Henderson has for you. Enjoy the rest of the tour!
