I knew I'd love the fringe scissors from the Occasions catalog! Look!
Isn't that pretty? I used Melon Mambo with Pumpkin Pie here.
I started with a strip of card stock measuring about 5" and 1 1/4" thick. I used the fringe scissors on the top here and below I cut slits every 1/4" or so to help it curve into a circle. Next I curved it lightly with my bone folder.
Here is how it looks before the center is added. I adhered the three strips to a punched circle. With the three layers it's pretty full plus you don't have to be 'perfect' on your curve as you can see. You could make these as large as you wanted by starting with a larger piece of card stock. A bouquet would be gorgeous!
See this fun scissors on page 31 of the Occasions catalog.
I added mine to a tag for a gift bag full of greeting cards. Our Tag a Bag Gift Bags fit cards perfectly! And a little tip here - I added a few lines of our 2-way glue on the bag flap and let it dry. It is now tacky and stays closed but it doesn't tear when opening! Love this stuff!
The center of the flower is made with a flower image from the SAB Petal Parade along with a 1 1/4" scalloped circle white flower and a Petite Petal blossom like I showed you last week here.
Thanks for stopping in! I've got an advisory board call coming up in a bit. I so look forward to this time with my fellow members and the Stampin' Up! team in Utah.
