I received this card below from my dear friend Susie. She generously shared some of her recent cards with me at Convention. I knew this would be a hit at my Card Clubs!
It's not a very good photo but hopefully you get the gist. I really, really love this fun fold!! I'm not sure where she got the idea and I wouldn't be surprised if she came up with it herself. She is super creative!
I changed it up a bit because I didn't want to copy it exactly.....!
Instead of Melon Mambo I used Strawberry Slush. The accent color is Coastal Cabana. I think they work well together with the Black and White additions.
Here you can see a bit more of how this card is made.
It starts out a normal size card, 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Then on one side of the fold you'll cut 1 1/2" from the fold line to the end of the card. Do the same to the other side. Now you have 3 cuts with the center one being 2" wide. The back of the card remains intact. I ran the cut side through the Chevron or Stylish Stripes embossing folder. You can emboss it before or after you cut it doesn't really matter.
After stamping your inside White layer you'll adhere it to the center and then glue the outside flaps down. Then fold that center 2" easel flap in half to create the easel.
Isn't it adorable?!! I just love it and my club galsdid too. It's one of those deceptively easy fun-fold cards that most people will 'get' right away when they receive it.
Of course it folds flat for mailing.
