This is the other card we made at June's Card Clubs:
Do you love these colors like I do?? Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar with Pumpkin Pie!
I had chipboard on my mind for this card but I actually didn't use real chipboard but the thinner white board included in our dsp packages. It's thick enough to hold up like chipboard but not too thick for mailing.
When using chipboard with patterned paper I suggest using glue stick. It covers well and adheres like a charm. Adhere the patterned paper onto the board first, then place it on your alphabet dies 'good side down'. This gives you a smooth feel to the right side. Good side down is a good rule of thumb for most Bigz dies.
Before I get to the rest of this card I have a tip to share on cutting perfect banners:
Cut up to the middle point first. You could even measure and make a dot with a pencil if you need it really perfect.....
Then all you do is cut from the outside corner to your middle point. Easy!
This card front is deceiving. It doesn't look like it, but it is a 'fun-fold' card!
The long white piece connects the front and back single layers. It's scored twice to make a 'Z-fold'. This white piece measures 3 1/4" X 11" and is scored at 4 1/2 & 9".
Here's another view:
And here's the back view:
I love this card fold because it's both fun and easy. It would also be perfect for those card front swaps you get (or if you're re-using the front of a card - nah; who does that, right?!). Just add on the middle fold and very back. And how about when you really want to add a lot of detail to the inside of your card? This fold gives you tons of space to embellish.
