We made this at my Card Clubs this month:
There are a few techniques here - Emboss Resist and what I call 'Artist's Canvas'.
For the Emboss Resist, I inked my large Postage Due stamp in Versamark ink and stamped onto the Vanilla card stock and then embossed it using clear embossing powder with my heat gun. After a few moments we sponged/rubbed on Soft Suede and Not Quite Navy ink over the embossed image. Then wipe off the excess ink with a damp cloth. The ink colors adhere to the card stock but resist where the image is embossed.
I also made this card for a Convention swap I am in.
To make the 'Artist's Canvas' technique I used a direct to paper technique on my Crumb Cake card stock. I brushed on Crumb Cake ink pad directly onto the card stock. Next I sponged on Not Quite Navy ink over the un-inked areas.
Oh; and did you see the extra long Ticket punched piece? We used the new Ticket Duo punch here.
Did you know you can make many of our punches longer? I frequently have a greeting I want to use but it doesn't fit the punches I have. So I made them longer! Stamp your image first and then make sure the height of the card stock you use fits into the back of the punch as seen above. Once you get that figured out the rest is easy! My strip is slightly less than 3/4" wide.
Do you see that Red card stock behind it? That is my 'slide guide' and it is placed inside the punch where you would normally put your card stock for punching. It helps the strip of card stock slide in easily through the very back/bottom of the punch without catching on anything, as you can see above. I make sure to slip that guide out before I punch it. I then put the guide back in before punching the other end.
Hope you enjoyed reading about these techniques and punch tricks to make this pretty card.
Great use of this stamp set, love it and the punch tip, awesome!

Thanks for the great techniques. I love the card, and have never tried your technique, but I will give it a try tomorrow. And the idea with the slide guide is just the answer to my problem. You are so smart!!

Great tip using the punch. I never thought to use a "slide guide". You're so clever!

Very cool tip with the slide guide! Love 'emboss resist' with those colors. What a stunning color combo.

Great little tutorial for these two techniques! Thank you! I've done the Emboss Resist but never tried the Artist's Canvas. They look so great together....can't wait to try it out!
