This is one of the projects I made to display the new In Colors for my Open House on Wednesday.
I used the new In Color 12" card stock and the Rosette Bigz XL die (it's in the new catalog) to make the Rosettes. Then I used the World Spectacular designer paper to make the pinwheels. Here's a few close-ups:
To make the Rosette's I cut two 12" long pieces of each In Color card stock, varying the width a bit (3 1/4" - 4 1/2" wide) and used the Rosette die to cut and score them. *Varying the width is what decides how large your rosette is.
First you fan-fold each strip on the pre-scored lines done by the die. Then glue the ends together to make a complete circle from two strips. Next I punched a big circle from coordinating card stock and added a blop of hot glue to this circle. Then I flattened the rosette into the hot glue. Hold it a bit to cool & set.
Making the pinwheels is very simple.
First you cut a square of patterned paper or card stock. Mine vary from 3 1/4" - 4 1/2" square. Then fold them from corner to corner in a triangle shape both ways, making a nice crease as shown below.
Now you will cut on those creased lines almost to the center point; about 1/4" from it.
Next you will lift up one corner at a time, always choosing the same corner (left or right) on each triangle. Bring it to the center point and just across it so that if you use a brad it will go through part of the tip. I like to add a small bit of my Snail tape runner to hold the tips while I work.
Can you see how I chose the left corner on these two so far? I will continue to bring the left tip to the center and secure it until I add a brad or button with glue dots.
Thanks for stopping in today.
I used hot glue to attach the ribbon to the rosettes. Large glue dots would also work as would sticky strip. That is my usual method!

I love the pinwheels on the rosettes. How did you attach the rosettes to the ribbon?
Thanks,
Terry
