I've seen a few cards made with this gorgeous technique lately & had to make one. Then I had to try another combo after that.
First up is this bright & happy combo.
Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango & Poppy Parade.
How do you make one? First I cut out strips of card stock measuring 3 3/8" high X 1 1/4" wide. Then you stamp them with solid type stamps using the same color of ink as the card stock. For example use Daffodil ink & stamp directly onto the Daffodil card stock.
You may be wondering why I didn't just use Versamark. Well I tried it and didn't get the deep color I was looking for. But you could stamp it in Versamark and then emboss it with clear embossing powder & that would likely give you the same effect or even better.
Can you see the shine on the flowers? We added a few drops of Crystal Effects to the dotted areas on the flowers.
Next you need to attach them together in an even row. This is my method:
We added adhesive on a strip of card stock - it doesn't matter what color it is because it is underneath the stamped pieces - & adhered the strips to it. This is an easy way to ensure they're even. And it also gives you a base to wrap the ribbon around the strips.
So after you have them adhered in a row, wrap the ribbon around them. I usually wrap one length around the front, adhering the ends in the back. Then I tie a shorter piece around the front strip of ribbon. Now you can attach the colored strips to your folded card. Or you could mat the entire piece onto Black card stock. I kept mine clean & simple.
Here's the other card:
Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose & Rose Red.
Can't you just see this card done in Blues with snowflakes or Greens with leaves?
Supplies:
- Stamps - Petal Pizzazz, Printed Petals, Eastern Blooms,Sentiments - Occasional Quotes, Bring on the Cake
- Card stock - Shimmer, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose & Rose Red, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango & Poppy Parade
