You may have seen the little dresser gift I made my husband Andy for Valentine's Day in Wednesday's post. See that post here:
Here are a few tips on how you can make your own.
To make this little dresser I cut out 6 matchbox drawers in Real Red card stock & 6 wraps or covers for the drawers in Black. The Black wraps do not show up well but they support the drawers. Glue the 6 Black wraps together first in two stacks of three & then glue the two stacks together. Each drawer is then inserted in each cover. I punched a heart from the Love Letter DSP for each drawer knob which are Red & Black glimmer brads. Wrap a long piece of that same Love Letter Designer paper around the entire double stack.
See the little buttons for the 'legs'? I adhered two Red buttons together with glue dots & then to the dresser base.
For the dresser 'mirror', I cut two Top Notes - one from Black card stock & the other from Vellum card stock. I trimmed the vellum one down to the stitching. These two Top Notes are adhered together only at the bottom & under the heart since Vellum shows adhesive easily. To adhere the entire mirror to the dresser I cut another Black piece that fit behind the 6 drawers so I had something to attach the mirror to.
This piece for the back side & is 2 1/2" wide X 5 1/4" long. I scored it 1/2" from each end & tucked it behind the DSP wrap on the very back side of the dresser. You can see the back of the Red drawers.
- Stamps - Fabulous Phrases
- Ink - Black
- Card stock - Black, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Love Letter DSP, Glimmer Red, Vellum CS
- Accessories - Full Heart, 3/4 X 15/16" oval & small heart punches, 1/8" narrow Black taffeta & 5/8" Red satin ribbons, mini glue dots, Matchbox Bigz XL die, Big Shot, Brights & Neutrals glimmer brads, Vanilla ribbon roses, Brights designer buttons for the feet of the dresser
Oh I love it! Wish I could get or wish somebody would give me something like this is.

This is so awesome! I do have a question, I am ordering the matchbox die. What size piece of cardstock do you need for the box itself?
