I'm so glad you're here for the Control Freaks blog tour this month. The theme is Fall & Halloween. I know the ideas you'll see are as unique & fabulous as the Freaks are themselves!
You may have arrived from my friend Dawn's blog. She made some fantastic projects using two of my favorite new Fall stamp sets.
First up is a card we made at my Card Clubs in September. This new stamp set 'French Foilage' is so beautiful. Skeleton leaves have always been a favorite of mine - they are so real in appearance. And even though I am not usually a 'collage-style' stamper, this set is wonderful for that look.
Isn't that Cherry Cobbler just luscious? It's paired with Early Espresso & More Mustard to make this gorgeous background paper.
Here's a hint when you are creating your own patterned paper with rubber stamps. Always start with the largest stamp first. Then move down to the next size & so on. It's easiest to fill in with the smallest image or background stamp like the spatters last.
See the Cherry seam binding across the center of the card? This is my newest & most favorite ribbon. It also comes in Artichoke & Vanilla.
We used the SU Cutter kit on the edges of the greeting. To curl your card stock, just use your fingers to work the corners until they are pliable. Or use your paper piercing tool to curl the card stock around them.

And now - the easiest house I ever built - okay it's really the only one I've ever built unless you count gingerbread houses!
It's our new 'Design-a-House' featured in the Holiday Mini catalog on page 37 US. It's made from heavy smooth white card board. It comes in 5 pieces that you just glue together - I used my favorite glue - Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Once I had it together I took it outside & spray painted it with black glossy paint. Before it dried I sprinkled it with Black glitter from the Fine Galaxy fine glitter. How easy is that??
I stamped some spooky objects from the Wicked Cool stamp set using Black Stazon on card stock vellum & adhered them inside the pre-cut windows with dimensionals. The Razzleberry & Black trim is from Wicked Fun dsp along with Pumpkin card stock.
Here's a close-up of the front door & window. See the Pumpkin glimmer brad for the door knob? Perfect!! I put a few of the battery operated flicker candles inside the house to highlight the windows. These simple details add so much!
See the 3 bats? I curled some fine black wire around a pencil & adhered it to the chimney with glue dots. I punched out bats from Black card stock that had been textured with the new Spider Web embossing folder. For the detail to stand out I rubbed a bit of Frost Shimmer paint to the raised areas created by the folder. The bats are glued back to back over the wire. By the way, the Razzleberry background (bat) paper is also from the Wicked Fun designer series paper pack. There are gorgeous flocked papers in this one!
And now you're off to see what the amazing Gretchen has for you. Her fall Decor blocks are awesome!
