We made these cards at my Card Clubs this month & I can't believe I didn't get them posted before Father's Day! I am so sorry!
I saw a similar shirt & tie card in the New Catalog & had to figure out an easy way to make one.
Here's how I did it:
First cut a long card base at 4 1/4 X 10". Score it in half at 5". This shorter card allows the finished card with collar to fit in a regular 4 1/2 X 5 3/4" envelope.
Cut a piece for the shirt front (mine are either Bashful Blue or Chocolate Chip) measuring 4 3/4" X 3 7/8". Texture that with an embossing folder or Texturz plate. Do not adhere to your card yet! But you can adhere your tie & tie clip/brad. I do not have an exact template for the tie. But my tie is 2 3/4" wide & 4 3/8" long. It's pretty easy to draw one & cut it out for a pattern.
Cut a 'collar' measuring 1 1/2" X 3 3/8". Score in half on the long side & fold it like the Chocolate collar is. Add two eyelets on the ends & fold on an angle to simulate a tie.
Now you'll need a piece of card stock 1 3/4" square. You'll add adhesive & insert this piece in between the bottom edges of the folded collar. Add adhesive as shown. You can see mine has adhesive on it - it was adhered over & over when I demonstrated at my Clubs.
Now you just adhere the collar to the back of your 'shirt' as shown below. Then adhere to the back of the main folded card.
Here are a few photos of the insides of the card, which we kept pretty simple.
This card isn't just for Father's Day. It would work for a birthday, promotion or even graduation.
- Stamps - All Holidays, Wonderful Favorites
- Ink - Chocolate Chip & Night of Navy
- Card stock - Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Travel Journal dsp (blue stripe), Sweet Pea dsp (brown & olive stripe)

thank you for sharing, I was needing a more business like fathers day card for my BIL, and came across you. So glad I did, only took about a half hour to make the card, took longer to pick out the "shirt and tie" Thankyou!!
