I usually make Christmas pages for SB Club each January. It's still fresh & most everyone has lots of holiday photos to scrap. Plus it's good to get it done right away!
I LOVE the colors here! Real Red, Bashful Blue, Glorious Green & white.
- I used lots of different SU punches & dies, but there are a few extras on this page too..... Remember all those envelopes I needed to make Pat's Advent Envelope albums? Well they came from Christmas cards I got on sale after the Holidays last year. Some of those cards were photo cards - notice the Christmas tree frame on the left page?
- And the little green trees also came from another bunch of Christmas cards - they even had little sticky, dimensional pop-ups on them! So I'm calling this page 'green'.
- I used the jumbo Whimsy wheel on the white & Bashful Blue areas. Plus on the Bashful Blue pieces I used the 'Direct to Paper' technique where you rub the ink pad directly on the card stock. I really like doing this technique on my SB pages - it's an easy patterned paper look.
- 'Merry' was cut out from white card stock using SU's Simple Alphabet letter dies & the Big Shot. The year was die cut using my new Timeless Type alphabet jr dizzlit dies & placed onto a scallop circle from the Scallop Circle #2 die.
- See the 3 little scallop circles on the left page? I punched out 3 red scallop circles & then punched three 1 3/8" circles from various family & pet photos to place in the scallops.
- The packages under the trees are 1" squares & rectangles cut from Red dsp & wrapped or topped with embroidery floss as bows.
- For those that may want to case this layout, the Real Red pieces are 8 1/2" square. The Bashful Blue pieces are 8 1/2"X 3 3/4". The white 12 X 12" card stock is the base of both pages.
SB Club meet on the third Sunday & Thursday of each month. January 17th at 3 pm & January 21st at 6:30 pm. Sunday's club usually has room for guests - let me know if you'd like to come!
Great layout. It's so nice to see real pages. So many are using the MDS and I just prefer the feel of using the real thing. Thanks for sharing.
