While I am having fun at Convention in Salt Lake City, I thought I'd give you something fun to make. I made these for a 3-d Dream swap I joined on Splitcoast.
I just love the colors - Chocolate Chip, Real Red & So Saffron. And when you add in some polka dot ribbon a special, curvy stamped tag you have a sure winner in my book!
Check out the tutorial below with measurements & instructions:
Cut a piece of card stock at 4 1/2" X 11 1/2" for the outside piece. I used 12" textured Chocolate Chip card stock for mine.
Score from one end at 4 1/2 & 4/3/4" & again at 9 1/2 & 9 3/4". The 9 1/2" end will be referred to the 'flap end' later.
Ignore the 1/2 of a circle punched out of the side end for now.
For the belly band, cut a strip of So Saffron card stock measuring 1 3/4" X 11" & score the same as above. 4 1/2 X 4 3/4" & again at 9 1/2 X 9 3/4".
You'll need two business size envelopes. Seal up the flap, cut off 1/4" from each end & fold them in half. Use a large circle punch to create the 1/2 circles on each end. I used the 1 3/4" circles & punched through both at the same time.
Next seal the flap sides on each envelope together, making two pockets when you open up the 1/2 circles (the actual inside of the envelope).
Seal both of the envelopes together leaving only the inside pockets of the envelopes open.
Place both folded envelopes inside the Chocolate scored piece in the middle leaving the flap end opposite.
Punch again with your large circle punch matching up the previously punched 1/2 circle envelope ends.
Adhere the double envelopes to the inside of the outside envelope booklet. I like to use Tombo Mono-multi glue - it has good permanent hold.
This is how the booklet looks when filled with cards inside.
I placed a 3 X 3" card with matching envelopes in each of the four pockets.
I also curved the outer flap with a corner rounder.
Here are the four cards I made.
Stamps - Teeny Tiny Wishes, Great Friend
Card stock - Real Red textured, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, So Saffron
Ink - So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
Accessories - Finial Press embossing folder, Blossom Party originals dies, Big Shot, Red polka dot ribbon, word window, Modern label & Boho Blossom punches, BB & RR brads, mat pack, small square envelopes
Thanks for the tutorial, i really like it!
