I promised you a tutorial on the Shadow Box card seen here on our Catty Cruise Blog tour. If you missed it, follow the links on the post above to see some amazing projects us stewards created for you.
I created another version for the tutorial. Such an easy WOW idea for a card.First I'll list the products & tips on how I made this card.
To get the white square base, I cut out a white Top Note using my Big Shot. Then I turned it 45 degrees & ran it through again. This creates this wonderful curvy square.
The Olive piece was textured with the new SU Perfect Details Texturz plate.
I turned the white Organza ribbon 'Pale Plum' by sponging Pale Plum classic ink onto it with a sponge dauber.
The Butterfly, Olive flowered square & thank you verse are all from the new Stamp set 'For All You Do'. The butterfly was done by stamping first in Pale Plum & adding Rich Razzleberry ink on the edges with a sponge dauber.
I am using a 4" square of double sided Designer Series paper. This gives you the exact space needed for SU's 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" square punches to be layered.
Step 1:Fold the paper in half & then in half again. Then use a pen or marker to make a cross onto the center lines of both folds.
Step 2:
Bring each corner to the center cross making sure the tips meet at the center lines.
After all the corners are brought into the center, fold the tips back out to meet the outer edge fold. The only hard part about this is if your fold is not perfect the sides to not meet evenly.
Here is a side view to give you an idea of the 3-dimensional look & feel to this card.
I like the fact that it all folds up flat for mailing but pops back up a bit out of the envelope.Have fun making them & please post a link to your version in the comments section.
Beautiful!
