This is the neatest project! I wanted to give a set of Thank You cards to my nephew's fiance at her bridal shower next weekend, so I made this adorable box with note cards inside.
The front is decorated with flowers from the Pretties kit & two 5 Petal Punches between them.
Here's how you do it:
You need two pieces of card stock to make your box. I used Brocade Blue.
Cut each piece at 8" X 8 1/2".
****Now, because I was using note cards, which are smaller than an A-2 (4 1/4 X 5 1/2") I cut mine down to 7 1/4" X 8 1/2".
Score on three sides at 2" from the edges. Leave one short side un-scored.
Sorry for the blurry photos! They get better from now on.
With the un-scored side on top, cut up to the 2" fold on just two fold lines.
Add glue to these 2 X 2" flaps & glue to the wider bottom flap. Do this to both of your box pieces.
By the way, I prefer to use Tombo Mono-Multi glue for boxes. Another great option is Sticky Strip. Both of these hold wonderfully!
You should have two of these 'half-boxes' now.
Insert one inside the other to form a complete tall box with an open top. Glue together.
To make the lid, cut a piece of coordinating card stock at 4 1/2 X 6". (Mine is Pink Pirouette.)
Score it at 2" & 4" along the 6" side.
Scallop one edge.
Insert the other edge into the box & adhere.
I added patterned paper to all of my sides.
Cut 2 pieces at 4 1/4 X 5 1/4" for the front & back. ****This is the measurements for the Note Card size box!
For the full card size box, I believe the measurements would be 4 1/4 X 6".
For the sides, cut 2 pieces at 1 3/4" X 5 1/4" for the Note Card size.
Cut them at 1 3/4" X 6" for the full card size box.
I wrapped ribbon around the front & continued behind the box.
I added another strip of ribbon under the Pretties flower to tie the bow on top of the lid.
No un-tying of the bow to open the box, just velcro securing it closed. Here are the note cards I made to put inside.
You can order these note cards & envelopes from Stampin' Up! You get 20 cards & 20 envelopes in each package for just $5.95.
I decided to make her Thank You's using her monogram on the front & a Thank You inside. The 'L's are from the alphabet set called Lovely Letters.
Stamps - To Have & To Hold, Lovely Letters, Great Friend (leaf & stem inside)
Card stock - Brocade Blue, Pink Pirouette, Brushed Silver, Pink Pirouette & Pretty in Pink prints
Ink - Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Silver
Accessories - Pretties kit, 5 Petal flower punch, Scalloped edge punch, new white satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini catalog, Scalloped circle punch, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, mini glue dots, scoring tool & paper cutter, velcro, sponge dauber to color one of the Pretties flower
ADORABLE!!!!
