I planned to share this with you in December!
We have an annual Christmas cookie exchange and this is how Melanni decorated her box of goodies - with hand-made bows made from designer paper!
We were curious as to how she made them so she did a little lesson for us while we were drinking cider and sharing cookies.
Here are the pieces you need to make one bow.
- 8 pieces 1" X 5 1/2" of double sided designer paper
- 5 pieces 1" X 4 1/2" same paper
- 1 X 1" square for the very back
- Adhesive, a large brad & piercing tool
Fold each strip into points as shown above and adhere. Adhere 4 of these together with adhesive. One of the 1" X 4 1/2" strips is folded into a circle or loop. Adhere the two largest groups (on the bottom of the upper photo) onto each other and add the smaller one on top. Poke a large brad through it all to secure. Then finish with the circle loop to hide it all. It's best if you can put the brad through the loop also; if you can maneuver it in. The last 1" square is to cover the brad prongs on the underside.
Very cool! What a great way to use up some of our patterned paper!
