We held our annual Christmas party last week at a local restaurant. We love to get together and exchange gifts and enjoy a meal at Christmas time. This year we added a Christmas sock exchange too. Here's a photo of all of our hands wearing our socks! (We decided not to use feet as many of us had on good, warm shoes/boots since the temperature was below zero!)
There were also some wonderful hand made gifts exchanged. Here's one Melissa made:
Did you know you can add stamped images to candles? You can; and it's fairly easy too. Melissa used the Embellished Ornaments stamp set here. I am not sure if her candle was glittered or if she added it somehow.
Stamp your image on white tissue paper; the paper you add to a gift bag. Then cut out the image or tear the paper around it. Lay it onto your candle and wrap a piece of waxed paper around it. Hold the waxed paper tightly in the back of the candle so the tissue paper is contacting the candle well. Then use your heat tool to heat the wax up a bit. This is a little tricky. If you hold the heat tool too close it will melt the candle too much. So start further away; like 6 inches or so. Wave it over the image. The wax melts a little, adhering the tissue paper right into the candle. It's a very cool technique!

I'm so happy my kids are coming home for Christmas again this year. It makes this mother's heart happy to have us all together each year. I have a bunch of games and food planned for the weekend!
I wish you a wonderful and memorable Merry Christmas!
