These fun Pop & Twist cards are amazing and so fun! They are unique and interactive; it's hard to stop playing with them!
I chose to use the new Sale-a-Bration 'Hey Chick' stamp set to make mine. These chickens are the bomb and also another fun and unique product we have now. You can get this stamp set FREE with any $50 purchase from Stampin' Up! during our Sale-a-Bration promotion through March 31st. See the catalog here if you don't have one.
You might wonder where that chicken wire background came from. It's actually a stamped embossing folder! The new Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder works beautifully as a stamp too! I'll share my favorite way of doing this technique in my video below.
This card is very difficult to learn without a video. I hope you can watch it; I'll also share a few water-coloring tips with our new Watercolor Pencils. By the way, these pencils are unavailable right now. They were so popular the sales exceeded their expectations. They should be available again mid February.
The templates for this card are pictured below the video; as well as the measurements.
I chose to use classic Red, Black and White for my card adding in a bit of the Pop of Pink Designer Paper.
- Main Real Red card - 4 1/4" X 11"
- White 'chicken wire' CS - 4" X 5 1/4", White stamped front - 2 1/4" X 3 3/4"
- Black front layer - 2 3/8" X 4 1/4"
- inside Pop of Pink DSP - 3" square
The templates below were generously shared with me from my stampin' buddy, Susie Wood. She sent them to me so I could make one of these amazing cards! She's awesome!
The piece below is 8 1/2" X 11" to start with. The next three photos are all the same piece but you will see the progression and changes needed to make the inside pop & twist.
After you score the CS above you will remove the outer corners. You can use a scissors or a paper trimmer. I used one panel on my card front.
To get the unique diagonal center fold you will need to watch my video; it's quite unique but easy to do!
The photo below will make sense once you watch the video; it's where you apply adhesive when adding it to the long CS.
And lastly is the center piece; on my card it's Black. It's 2 3/4" X 11", scored every 2 3/4". The White stamped squares are 2 1/2" square.
