I've been anxious to share this one with you! We made these at my Card Clubs in April.....
Some of my gals were intimidated by it at first but everyone was later amazed at how easy this card was to put together. Well.... I did have the paper cut and scored for them. ;)
You'll start out with a piece of double-sided designer series paper measuring 8" X 12". Then you'll score at 2", 4", 8" and 10". You can lightly score at the 6" mark, but VERY lightly.
Now to make the diagonal line you'll make a mark on the left vertical side 2 1/2" from the top and on the right side 2 1/2" from the bottom. Then cut from the marks across the paper. This cuts the main piece in half on the diagonal.
Now you'll make marks on the 2", 6" and 10" score lines dividing these areas up in half vertically. Notice how I cut up on the diagonal edge on the top piece above, and up on the flat edge on the bottom piece? This is very important!
As shown above, at the narrow most score line mark at 1 1/2", middle light score line at 2", and at the longest score line 2 1/2". Cut up and through these dots as shown below.
Now you'll hold these pieces so both flat edges are on the bottom and the height of each piece matches. Interlock these pieces together so they fit like this:
If they don't match evenly you may need to cut up into your marks a bit further.
Now you'll put your fingers in the center two pockets and press on the folds so they start opening. You'll get a shape like this:
Now all you'll need to do is decorate it. Easy? Maybe not, but you can see it just takes a bit of measuring to get this fun-fold card working. Here are a few more views:
This is how it would look flat going into an envelope.
