It's just a few days before Christmas now and I'm just getting my presents wrapped! Each year I get later and later at this. My kids are coming home this weekend so we're pretty excited that we'll all be together again this year.
We did not finish our flood home in time for Christmas but we do expect to move in January. We're waiting on some of our flooring to arrive. But - doing these final touches to it is a lot more fun than many of the tasks we were doing before. We have running water, one working toilet, painted walls, counter tops, quite a few cabinets in place and some flooring done. So nice to see it getting completed!
Here's a photo of my studio; cannot wait to get in there again!
I made my second batch of Christmas goodies last night too. I used to make at least 15 different things! This year; two! But it helps that we did a cookie exchange this year again.
Twelve of us get together each year and exchange 1/2 dozen cookies each. The girls get pretty creative with packaging up their tasty goodies!
I couldn't find my Christmas paper goods box this year so I just packaged mine in baggies! They're on the right. But the cookies are sooo good! If you like mint and an easy chocolate cookie try this recipe. I used both Creme de Menthe and Peppermint candies for variety.
My second effort is Oreo Truffles; it's the one thing everyone loves. If you've never tried them you should! Delicious!
Don't let my procrastinations make you think I don't love Christmas. It's my very favorite time of year; hands down. Besides the joy of being together as a family I see people out shopping and driving around with sparkly eyes and a ready smile and it truly warms my heart! What a wonderful time of year; I get kind of sappy over it!
Merry Christmas to each of you.

Happy New Year and much happiness in your home. So good to see your craft room being rebuilt and so beautiful too.

So happy to hear you will be going home soon! I love the blue color you chose...a beautiful shade of my favorite color! The cookies look delicious also! Wishing you a blessed 2013!

Merry Christmas, Leann! I'm so glad you are getting close to getting back into your place. I live over in NE Montana and have close relatives in Minot, so I saw the devastation first hand. My aunt and uncle lost their home also. Blessings to you in 2013! I look forward to seeing much more fabulous inspiration coming out of that fantastic new studio!

Merry Christmas, Leann, and I hope you are back in your home soon. I'm certainly not jealous of your flood damage, but I am jealous you get to re-design your craft studio! Have fun with that!
