We made a quilt card using the Top Note die. The photo is a bit darker than it should be. It's Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry & Rich Razzleberry.
The papers are Razzleberry Lemonade & Saffron prints.
We punched out 1 1/4" squares from the papers & adhered them onto a 4 X 5 1/4" piece of card stock. Then we cut it out using the Top Note die & then used the Perfect Polka dot embossing folder on this.
After you get the polka dot texture use a sanding block to lightly sand the raised surface. This exposes the white core of the patterned paper giving it a distressed look.
The white wide oval tag is from Perfect Punches & the curved Razzleberry layers around it are from the Matchbox die - I used two of these.
We also made a card using the Mover's & Shapers die & the new builders wheels.
There's a trick to just cutting out half of the star. Here's the 'how to':
Score your 4 1/4" X 11" piece of card stock 2 3/4" from one end. Lay the star or any other Mover's & Shaper's die inside the metal tray of the large Curly Label die moving it so the fold is positioned exactly in the middle over the small die. Open up the entire card so it's flat over the entire large die. Now place it over the large cutting plate & add a small cutting plate just up to the fold on the side you want to cut. Like this:
This is how you run it through the Big Shot. With the acrylic plate edge directly over the score line & most of it sticking out to the right of the big die. It's a bit awkward, but it works!
I LOVE my builder wheels & triple inked color cartridge (see them in the Summer Mini & the new catalog). Once I get my new colors of ink refills I'll be making a few more combinations.
Our last project was a Milk Carton box.
Cute, aren't they? The box is Daffodil Delight & the milk cartons are Peach Parfait. The beautiful flowered paper is the Greenhouse Gala.
