Last week I had a card making class for a group of brand new stampers at a local bank. I had no idea how many were coming until the day before so I had to keep the cards quick & easy.
They loved these cards & want to do another class soon! In case you need some quick card ideas - here are the 5 cards they made:
They loved the Big Shot & embossing folders (Finial
Press here) . Adding texture to a card is a perfect way to turn it into something special.
This is Lavender Lace & Vanilla CS, Sincere Salutations for the greeting & we stamped the Rose from Kind & Caring Thoughts hostess set onto the Vanilla envelope.
A pretty, but possible masculine card. Lovely as a Tree is always a winner!
Hint: I used the Scalloped Square die, running it through once & then inserting it back into the die, fitting it into the scallops again, but cutting one scallop off. That made it into the perfect rectangle for an A2 card.
- Card stock - Mellow Moss, Night of Navy & Really Rust
here.
- Stamps - Sincere Salutations for the sentiment.
We had to do a 'fun' card! Perfect for the kids I thought. And I wanted them to get the feel of just stamping anywhere - remember when you're new & just want to keep stamping & stamping!?
We stamped all of our Circle Circus images before running it through the Big Shot & Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.
- Colors - Green Galore, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
- Punches - wide oval, scalloped circle
- Happy Birthday image - single stamp from the last catalog.
- Red polka dot ribbon
And one more beautiful card using the Big Shot & Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. Here we used Brocade Blue & Whisper White. Notice the embossed envelope? Yes, you can texture the envelopes to match - very pretty!
- Stamps - Sincere Salutations
- Punches - Scallop oval, Wide oval
- Accessories - Organza ribbon, mini glue dots, Brocade Blue marker for dots
And many said their favorite was this one. Elements of Style has this gorgeous floral image stamp. And we just used markers to color in the image.
This is also one of the cards included in my special 'Class to Go' offer. Read about that here.
- Stamps - Sincere Salutations
- Ink - Black Stazon, Pretty in Pink for the envelope
- Card stock - Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Black, White
- Accessories - markers in Celery, Banana, Pretty in Pink, Celery wide satin ribbon

Stunning! The Circle Circus card is my favorite.
