I just love this soft, multi-colored sunrise. I think it turns this simple card into a big WOW.
did this card at a workshop on Friday night. Even though mostly experienced
stampers were there, I was still a bit worried that they'd have a hard time
keeping the sponging soft, but they all did wonderfully! Each card was
The trees from the Scenic Season stamp set were stamped using Elegant Eggplant ink, as was the greeting. Then they adhered a mask below the trees (Mask - a paper or sticky note that had been stamped with the trees & trimmed below the tree line) to protect the 'snow' when sponging.
We sponged using sponge wedges, not daubers, first with So Saffron Classic ink in the center, then Cameo Coral around that & finished with Bashful Blue. The trick to getting a soft sponged background is this - use very little ink on your sponge - apply it lightly without 'pressing' the ink onto the card stock - just dab or pounce. It takes longer to get the color on, but it will be soft & without sponge marks.
We added a Lavender rhinestone brad to the bottom corner along with 2-way glue & Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the trees. Then it was layered onto Elegant Eggplant CS & then the full Bashful Blue card.
A few people easily changed this into a gorgeous Sympathy card.
Thanks for looking!
