A special friend (Sharon S) dropped in the other day with one of her fantastic Christmas cookie trays. She is well renowned for her baking so that was a very welcome treat for us.
But she also made this amazingly beautiful card. She is an extremely talented stamper. You can check out her beautiful gallery on Splitcoast here:
This card is made from Baha Breeze, Ski Slope DSP, Real Red CS & Red vellum.
It is a gate fold card & just gorgeous in real life - pictures don't do it justice at all.
She added half-back pearls all over the card - even inside!
It's
such a coincidence because the day before she came I was thinking that I should do a
little tutorial on how to make these neat Tag Punch star-bursts. We did
them last year in my Card Clubs, but there are some new gals who have asked me
how to make them. So here goes!
Tag Punch Starburst Tutorial
1. First use your Small Tag punch & punch out 16 small tags, leaving more than 1/4" space between each punch.
2. Next, use your Large Tag punch to punch over the first, smaller punched tag spaces. Center it over these small areas so you get even frames when punched.
You'll need to make 16 of these!
3. Place four of these tag frames together over our card stock Vellum. Adhere the tag frames to the vellum with the angled corners touching like this. I use 2-way glue.
SU carries this Card stock Vellum in the current catalog. It is a thicker vellum, but still opaque, and it stands up better than traditional vellum. You can even emboss it without any curling!
4. Now, place 4 more of these tag punched frames over the first four on an angle. Glue it downwell. You do not really need to glue down the outer flat part of the tag frame. This gets cut off on the next step.
5. Now trim off the excess vellum & tag frames beyond the starburst shape like shown here.
Make sense?
Now you just need to stamp or punch something for your center & glitter the edges if desired.
How about adding buttons, pearls, jumbo eyelets or glittered stars or snowflakes for the center?
To finish this off, I use a 2-way glue pen on the Baha tag frames & then sprinkle with glitter. I do half of the starburst at a time so the glue doesn't dry too much before glittering.
I can't show you my Tag Punch card yet, but I will tomorrow!
It is part of a Demo Challenge that goes live on the 1st. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Congratulations on being the host of the WICKED challenge this month, LeeAnn! I look forward to trying that technique for the first time!

Wow, I love Sharon's card. The pearls really add a great touch! I haven't made one of these since last year. For mine, I added glitter to the vellum and used shimmery white for the punches. Can't wait to see your project tomorrow! ;)
